Introduction about Darwin

Darwin was been discovered in 1837, the HMS Beagle, under the command of John Wickham, and was continuing to be investigate by Matthew Flinders who live in the north of Australia coast. In 1802. Wickham and his crew were intent to exploring those inlets along the coast.

The city is built on a low bluff and can overlooking the Harbour. Its suburbs spread out over some area, beginning at Lee Point in the north and stretching to Berrimah in the east, the Stuart Highway goes on to Darwin's satellite city, Palmerston.

Now, Darwin is the capital of Northern Territory, and has 124,800 people, the smallest and most northerly of the Australian capital cities. Mining and Tourism are the two largest economic sectors. Mining production exceeds $2.5 billion per annum. Only 8% Darwin residents occupy the tourism, most part tourist come from all over the world. And is expected to grow more domestic and international tourists to spending time in Darwin during the Wet and Dry seasons. Federal spending is a major contributor to the local economy as well.

On the education in Darwin, Charles Darwin University was been Listed of schools in the Northern Territory. Education is overseen territory-wide by the Department of Education and Training, whose role is to continually improve education outcomes for all students, and with a focus on Indigenous students. Preschool, primary and secondary in Darwin are served by a number of public and private schools that cater to local and overseas students.
