Personalised Photo Christmas Ornaments
Make a favourite photo part of Christmas. Explore personalised Christmas ornaments for family portraits, pets and meaningful milestones. Compare the available materials, shapes and printing options, then choose an ornament that suits your image.
Compare Christmas Ornament Materials
Compare the printed photograph's background, surface finish and visible edges along with the base material. These guides explain the terms you may see; the products in this collection show the available choices, actual dimensions and prices.
Acrylic Photo Ornaments
Compare the acrylic base and the printed effect separately. Clear material can leave a see-through border, while white ink behind a photograph can give the image an opaque appearance. Use the product images to judge the actual transparency and finish.
Ceramic Photo Ornaments
Ceramic gives the photograph an opaque base. The stated gloss or matte finish affects its appearance, so compare the printed surface rather than relying on the material name alone. Handle ceramic carefully when hanging it and storing it.
Aluminium Photo Ornaments
A white photo-print coating and a visible metal surface can produce different looks. Compare the specified coating, surface finish and edge detail. The word aluminium does not by itself describe a brushed-metal photograph.
MDF Photo Ornaments
MDF means medium-density fibreboard, an engineered wood material. The printed face may have a different finish from the exposed edge. Compare both surfaces; MDF and solid timber are distinct materials.
Match the finish to your photo
If you want a solid photographic background, compare how the image is backed or coated. If you want some areas to remain see-through, look for an acrylic product that explicitly shows that effect. Surface finish, print coverage and backing all contribute to the result.
Choose a Photo That Fits Your Ornament
Judge the sharpness, the subject's size and the crop together. A large image file can still produce very small faces if the people occupy only a small part of the photograph. Start with the original camera or phone file and look closely at the faces you want to feature.
For portraits and pet photos
Choose a clear face or a compact group with some background around it. Leave room above a person's head or a pet's ears, and enough space at the sides for the chosen crop. A close portrait usually gives the important features more space on a small ornament.
For family and group photos
Check every person in the preview. If fitting the image removes someone at the edge, try a different position or another photograph. A wide group photo can make each face small; a tighter group with less empty background can work better.
How a shape changes the crop
When a product offers a choice of shapes, consider the image area each shape retains. These illustrations explain cropping; they do not represent the available sizes, exact hanging-hole positions or all shapes currently sold.
Image size: a practical example
An 8 cm-wide printed image is approximately 945 pixels across at 300 pixels per inch. That calculation describes the image area after cropping. Keep a larger original file where possible: a tight zoom uses fewer of its pixels, and extra pixel dimensions do not restore detail that was already blurred.
The 8 cm measurement is a calculation example. Use the actual product dimensions when preparing your design. Our team reviews image quality before printing; you can send your original photo for advice before ordering.
Understand Front and Back Printing
Choose the printing option that matches how you want the ornament to look from each side. Printed faces and separate designs are different specifications.
One printed face
Your design is printed on one face. The reverse appearance is specified by the product. This is useful to understand when the ornament may turn while hanging.
The same design on both faces
Two-sided printing can repeat one photograph or design on the front and back. It provides two printed faces using the same artwork.
Different front and back designs
A photo on the front and a separate name or message on the reverse require a product option that explicitly supports independent artwork for each face.
This explains printing terminology. Select from the printing options actually offered by your chosen product.
Names and Messages That Stay Readable
Where text personalisation is available, give the photo and the wording enough space. A short name and year can remain clearer than a full sentence on a small ornament.
- Use a clear contrast. Choose lettering that stands out against the part of the photo behind it.
- Keep important text inside the print area. Allow room around the outer edge and any hanging hole.
- Proof every detail. Check names, spelling, apostrophes and the year before checkout.
- Review near the finished size. Zoom out in your preview so you can judge whether the words will still be easy to read on the ornament.
Ideas for your own photos and wording
Family Christmas
Choose a photo where each face is clearly visible. Add a short family name and year if the selected product supports text.
The Martins · Christmas 2026Baby's First Christmas
Use a close baby portrait with room around the head. Keep the name or first-Christmas wording short.
Mia's First Christmas · 2026A Much-Loved Pet
Choose a sharp image of the face and leave space above the ears. The pet's name can be enough to personalise the design.
Archie · 2026Remembering Someone
Choose a meaningful portrait and, where supported, a name or a brief tribute that feels right for your family.

Personalised Christmas Ornaments FAQs
Answers about photos, text, printing options and Christmas orders.
Can I use my own photo on a Christmas ornament?
Yes. This collection focuses on photo-personalised ornaments. Use your original JPG/JPEG or PNG where possible, then choose the product and design options that suit the image.
Can I add a name, year or Christmas message?
Use the text options provided by the selected product. Where supported, a short name, year or message can be added to the design. Wording already present in an uploaded image is part of that image, so check its spelling and readability too.
Can the back show a different message from the front?
A separate reverse message requires an option for different artwork on each face. Check this independently from whether the product is described as double-sided. Some two-sided options repeat the same design.
Can I preview the photo before ordering?
Where Upload Photos & Design is available, you can position and preview the image before adding it to your cart. Check the selected shape, cropped edges and wording. Contact our team if you need help.
What if my photo is blurry or cropped too closely?
Send the original image for advice before ordering. Our team reviews image quality before printing. A wider crop or another photo may give a better result when important faces, ears or wording sit near an edge.
Is a ribbon or hanging cord included?
Check whether your selected ornament includes a ribbon or cord. The product page lists its hanging-hole and accessory details, so you can confirm what comes with it before ordering.
What is the Christmas order cut-off?
Please place Christmas orders by 11 December 2026. For an earlier gifting date, or if you are ordering after the cut-off and need Christmas delivery, contact us before ordering with the product, delivery postcode and date.
Can I have an ornament sent directly as a gift?
Yes. Enter the recipient's delivery address at checkout and check it carefully. If you need a specific arrival date, contact us before ordering.
How should I store photo ornaments after Christmas?
Wrap each ornament separately in soft material so printed faces do not rub against one another. Follow the product's material-specific care instructions and store the ornaments in a dry place.
What should I do if my order arrives damaged?
Contact us promptly with your order number and clear photos of the ornament, packaging and shipping label. Our team can assess the issue and help with the next step.
