Unframed Paper Prints
Keep the freedom to choose your own frame and mounting style. Unframed paper prints are a practical choice for refreshing an existing frame, working with a local framer or matching a collection you already own.
What you receive: your image printed on paper, supplied without a frame and delivered rolled in a protective tube.

Choose a size that fits your frame and your image
Three measurements matter when planning a paper print. Understanding the difference helps avoid a print that is too large for its frame or smaller on the wall than expected.
Paper size
The dimensions of the physical sheet. To reuse a frame, measure the space that holds the paper inside it. Match the dimensions in centimetres or millimetres, rather than relying only on a size name.
Visible image area
A white border or mat board changes how much of the image is visible. If your frame has a mat, check its window opening as well as the paper size, especially when artwork has lettering or a signature near the edge.
Finished frame size
The outside dimensions of the framed piece. Use this measurement to plan wall space, align a row of pictures or leave consistent gaps in a gallery wall. It can be larger than the paper size.
A useful size check: A3 paper measures 29.7 × 42 cm. That is different from 30 × 40 cm, so the two sizes should not be treated as interchangeable when matching a frame.
Get more from your photographs and artwork
The quality and proportions of your original image are just as important as the print size you choose.
Start with a detailed original
For photographs, use the original file from your phone or camera. Screenshots and images downloaded from social media often contain less detail. For illustrations and artwork, use a high-resolution export or a clear, evenly lit scan or photograph.
Fine lines, small text and signatures deserve particular attention. Enlarging a small file does not restore detail that was missing from the original.
Choose proportions that suit the subject
A wide landscape, a portrait and a square image need different compositions. When the image and paper have different proportions, filling the print area can require cropping. Keep faces and important details away from the edges.
For a set of separate prints, a shared colour palette or consistent framing can connect different photographs without making every image look the same.
