Seascape shooting technique

The seascape shot is composed with horizontal lines, canvas prints and deep blue tones are used to express the mysterious island customs. When photographers want to shoot the sea, they are greatly affected by the natural conditions and need to know the tidal condition of the shooting site. In addition, if you want to get good pictures and avoid visual fatigue, the photographer has to work on the composition.

For beginners, canvas prints online the easiest way to shoot seascape composition is to use the horizontal line composition as the basis and configure the horizontal line according to the rule of thirds, so as to get a relatively balanced composition. Of course, photographers should avoid showing the sea and sky alone, and make full use of the reef or sea shape and other elements in the sea, together with the use of light, so as to give unexpected surprises to people.

If the photographer can master the composition method of horizontal lines, he can make full use of other composition methods to integrate and fill the picture in the process of shooting seascape, frames for canvas so that the picture has more content. For example, in the process of composing with horizontal lines, the photographer can also use the vertical form to give the clouds in the sky some display space; Use the slope of the seaside or distant mountain to make certain oblique lines or other curves to show the beautiful curve of the sea; Use different shapes of rocks, floating fishing boats and other objects to make triangle or distance composition.

Tip

Water damage to the camera is very serious, especially the sea water, has a strong corrosive effect, so photographers in the seaside photos, to avoid waves contact with the camera. Camera lens had better install a UV lens to undertake certain protection to it, carry a clean cloth with you next, undertake slight wipe to camera casing at any time.

Use of light

Use different light to create different views of the sea. If the photographer is shooting the sea in the morning or evening, it is best to shoot by backlighting. At this point, photographers have the opportunity to document the sun's effect on the entire sea surface. If the photographer chooses to measure the sun in the shooting, the picture effect is often the brightness of the sea is dark, but highlights the warm feeling of sunrise; If you measure the light from a nearby cloud, the sun's color will be yellowish and the overall brightness will be relatively balanced. If you measure the sea surface, it will have a wonderful sparkling effect. Therefore, the photographer should choose the shooting method according to his own creative intention.

When photographing the sea, photographers need to pay attention to two points: first, the metering mode is best to use point metering, because sunlight will cause strong reflection and image contrast, point metering results are more accurate, can also use the central focus metering; Second, in the case of backlight, to use exposure compensation, if the exposure compensation is not appropriate, the brightness of the sea will be very dark, even gray, similar to the feeling of cloudy days.

The waves danced

The calm sea is relaxing, but the surging waves are just as exciting. To photograph waves, a photographer must first find out what the weather is like and then choose the right location for the shot. When a wave rolls in, especially when it hits a reef or shore, the photographer needs to capture the moment when the wave is dancing.

Waterfall shooting technique

Water is the source of life, the source of all things, and it covers a wide range. There are vast oceans, rushing rivers, magnificent waterfalls, gurgling streams and calm lakes and so on, which are all the subjects that photographers like to show.

Different shutter speed applications

For the performance of dynamic waterscape, the photographer needs to pay more attention to how to control the shutter speed. Different shutter speeds produce different effects. Photographers taking pictures of cascading waterfalls or gurgling streams can use fast and slow shutter speeds to get different images.

If the photographer wants to get a silk-like view of a waterfall or stream, the exposure time should be around 2s or even longer to achieve a satisfactory effect, which also takes into account the influence of water velocity. If the photographer wants to get a dynamic picture of a waterfall or a stream, he or she can consider using a high-speed shutter speed. Generally, a shutter speed of 1/500s or so can well fix the effect of water droplets splashing around.

The most effective way to control the shutter speed, whether it's a high speed shutter or a low speed shutter, is to use shutter priority mode. The photographer can turn the camera's main dial to TV (shutter priority) mode and select the desired shutter speed. The camera automatically determines the aperture value according to the shutter speed selected by the photographer. When the photographer is not sure of the exposure value, he can take more photos for comparison and find out the appropriate exposure combination. In the whole process of shooting, the tripod is essential, photographers must make full use of the tripod to enhance stability.

Use composition changes to show the charm of the waterfall. Photographers can use different composition methods to show the different feelings of the waterfall.

Method 1: incorporate the scenery around the waterfall into the composition, such as the surrounding trees or rocks as the foreground, to make the waterfall more attractive.

Method 2: use the stable panoramic composition to absorb the whole of the waterfall into the picture, thus fully showing the overall sense of momentum of the waterfall, but the photographer should pay attention to the balance between the waterfall and the trees.

Method three: use open composition to let the waterfall beyond the scope of the picture, so that not only can show the posture of the waterfall, cheap aluminum photo prints but also can give people space imagination outside the picture, more emphasis on the pressure of the waterfall.
