CUSTOM VERTICAL THREE-PANEL DISPLAY

Turn One Photo into a Contemporary Stacked Triptych

Create a distinctive vertical feature from one favourite image with custom Stacked Triptych Canvas Prints. Your photograph is divided horizontally across three equal-size landscape canvas panels, then displayed one above another to form a tall, balanced three-piece artwork.

This stacked layout is ideal for narrow walls, stair landings, entryways, bedrooms and spaces where a traditional side-by-side triptych would be too wide. Our designer carefully positions the image across all three panels and provides a layout preview before printing.

Three Stacked Panels

Three equal-size landscape canvases are arranged vertically to create a tall and space-efficient wall display.

Designer-Prepared Layout

Your photo is positioned by our designer so important subjects and details avoid the panel divisions wherever possible.

Preview Before Printing

Review the proposed crop and panel placement before the three canvases move into production.

Ready to Hang

Each individual panel is professionally stretched, finished and supplied ready for wall installation.

What Is a Stacked Triptych Canvas Print?

A stacked triptych transforms one continuous image into three horizontal canvas panels. Instead of hanging from left to right, the panels are placed from top to bottom with consistent spacing. The completed display is taller than it is wide, making it visually different from standard 3 panel split canvas prints.

Designed for Tall and Narrow Wall Spaces

The vertical arrangement works especially well where wall width is limited but height is available. It can turn an overlooked section of wall into a personalised focal point without overwhelming nearby furniture.

All three panels use the same dimensions and orientation. The image continues naturally from the top panel through the centre and into the bottom panel.

Recommended vertical spacing Leave approximately 2–5 cm between panels. Around 3 cm generally creates a clear separation while keeping the photograph visually connected.

Stacked Triptych Canvas Size Guide

Every option contains three equal-size landscape panels. Measurements are shown as the width and height of each individual canvas. Approximate display height includes two 3 cm gaps.

Choose the Right Size for Your Wall

Measure the available wall width and height before ordering. Allow extra clear space around the complete arrangement so the three panels do not appear crowded.

Small

A compact option for hallways, home offices, reading corners and narrow bedroom walls.

POPULAR CHOICE

Medium

A versatile size for entryways, beside a staircase, between windows or on a medium-height feature wall.

Large

Creates a stronger statement in open-plan homes, tall stair landings and larger bedrooms.

X Large

Best for high ceilings, spacious foyers, commercial interiors and dramatic portrait-format artwork.

Which Photos Work Best for a Stacked Canvas?

Portrait-orientation photographs and images with visual interest from top to bottom are the strongest choices. A clear subject, sufficient background and a high-resolution original give our designer more flexibility when preparing the three-panel crop.

  • Wedding portraits and full-length couple photographs
  • Family portraits with space above and below the subjects
  • Waterfalls, trees, mountains and tall architectural scenes
  • Travel photographs captured in portrait orientation
  • Pet portraits and artistic animal photography
  • Abstract designs with continuous vertical movement
  • Close-up botanical and nature photography

Important image-positioning note Faces, eyes, important text and small details should not sit directly across a horizontal panel division. If the original composition cannot be divided attractively, we will contact you before production to discuss cropping or another suitable image.

How to Order Your Stacked Triptych Canvas Prints

The standard single-image online editor does not create this three-panel stacked layout. Place the order first, then send your original photo to our design team for professional preparation.

1

Choose a Panel Size

Select the preferred size option and complete your order through the product page.

2

Send the Original Photo

Email the image and your order number to support@customcanvasonline.com.au. Large files can be shared through Dropbox, WeTransfer or Google Drive.

3

Approve the Preview

Our designer prepares the crop and panel divisions. Check the digital preview and approve the layout before printing begins.

Design process showing one photo divided into three stacked canvas prints

One Continuous Image Across All Three Panels

The artwork is not simply copied three times. We divide one photograph into a top, centre and bottom section, then prepare each section as an individual canvas while maintaining colour and visual continuity across the complete display.

The visible wall gaps form part of the final design. Our preview helps you understand how the composition will read once the panels are installed with spacing between them.

For the best result, send the highest-resolution original file available rather than a screenshot, social-media download or compressed messaging-app copy.

Professional Canvas Printing and Finishing

Each of the three panels is printed and finished as part of one coordinated set, helping the colour, detail and overall appearance remain consistent from top to bottom.

Quality Canvas Surface

A semi-gloss polyester and cotton canvas provides clear detail, balanced colour and a professional decorative finish.

Timber Stretcher Frames

Each canvas is carefully stretched over its own timber frame for a clean, firm and gallery-style presentation.

Indoor-Display Protection

The finished canvas is water-resistant and UV-resistant for normal indoor display. Avoid prolonged outdoor exposure and excessive moisture.

Coordinated Three-Piece Set

The three panels are prepared together so the image scale, panel divisions and print appearance work as one complete artwork.

How to Hang a Stacked Triptych

Careful alignment and equal spacing help the separate canvases read as one continuous vertical artwork.

1. Mark the centre line Use a level or measuring tape to mark the vertical centre of the intended display area.
2. Hang the centre panel Position the middle canvas first so the complete arrangement sits at the correct viewing height.
3. Add equal gaps Measure the same 2–5 cm space above and below the centre panel before placing the other two canvases.
4. Check alignment Confirm that all left and right edges align vertically before securing the final positions.

Production and Delivery

Most orders are completed and delivered within approximately 5–7 business days after the artwork is approved. Timing may vary according to destination, order volume and any requested design changes.

Image Quality Check

We check the supplied image for resolution, cropping space and suitability for the selected size. If there is a concern that may affect the result, we will contact you before printing.

Stacked Triptych Canvas Prints FAQs

Answers to common questions about stacked canvas layouts, suitable images, sizes, previews and hanging.

They are three equal-size landscape canvases created from one photograph and displayed vertically. The top, centre and bottom panels combine to form one continuous portrait-format artwork.
Standard 3 panel split canvases are normally arranged side by side and create a wide display. A stacked triptych places three horizontal panels above one another, producing a taller and narrower finished shape.
Yes. For example, the Medium option contains three individual 60 × 40 cm canvases. When displayed with two 3 cm gaps, the complete arrangement occupies approximately 60 × 126 cm.
A landscape photo may work if it has enough height and suitable cropping space, but portrait-format images are generally easier to adapt to the tall overall layout. Send the original image for assessment if you are unsure.
Yes. Our designer prepares a digital layout showing the crop and the two horizontal divisions. You can review the arrangement before production begins.
We position the two divisions to avoid faces and important details wherever possible. Some separation is necessary because the design uses three physical canvases, but the preview lets you check the result before printing.
A gap of approximately 2–5 cm is suitable for most displays. Around 3 cm is a balanced starting point. Use exactly the same spacing above and below the centre panel.
Email smaller files directly to support@customcanvasonline.com.au with your order number. For large originals, send a Dropbox, WeTransfer or Google Drive link instead of reducing the image quality.
We will contact you before printing if the supplied image is unlikely to produce a satisfactory result at the chosen size. You may be asked for the original file, a different photograph or a smaller panel option.
Yes. The panels are individually stretched and finished ready to hang. Install them separately so you can control the exact vertical spacing and position on your wall.
