Description
Give Your 24x32 Canvas a Defined Outer Border
An artwork you already enjoy can gain a different presentation without being reprinted. Our 24x32 floating frame surrounds an existing stretched canvas with a separate outer border and a visible gap. The front of your canvas remains on display, including details close to its edges.
Choose this product for a canvas photo print or painting supported by stretcher bars. Whether you are finishing a bare canvas or considering a replacement outer frame, the starting point is the canvas itself: its actual width, height and depth.
Adding a Frame or Replacing One? Start Here
The right preparation depends on how your artwork is currently displayed.
A Bare Stretched Canvas
If the canvas is already stretched over supporting bars and has no decorative outer frame, measure its outside edges and thickness. Use those measurements to choose the frame options.
Canvas in an Existing Outer Frame
Measure the canvas, not the outside of its current decorative frame. If the old frame hides the canvas edges and prevents an accurate measurement, ask for advice rather than estimating the hidden size.
Texture or Unusual Fittings
Raised paint around the edges, an irregular stretcher or fittings projecting from the back may affect placement. Share photos of those details so suitability can be checked before you select an option.
Canvas Size, Canvas Depth and Wall Space Are Different Measurements
For this roughly 61 cm x 81 cm canvas format, it helps to distinguish the dimensions used to prepare the frame from the space the completed artwork will occupy.
| Measurement | What it describes | Where to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Canvas width x height | The complete outside edges of your existing stretched canvas | Enter in the exact canvas size field, in cm |
| Canvas depth | Front face to the back edge of the supporting stretcher frame | Match to the 2 cm / 3 cm / 4 cm depth options |
| Finished outer frame size | The complete framed display, including the outer border and floating gap | Check against wall space; ask us to confirm the final dimensions if needed |
Use the size you physically measure. If your canvas measures 60 cm x 80 cm, enter 60 cm x 80 cm. Keep decimal measurements where applicable; do not enlarge them to match an inch conversion or add an allowance for the floating gap.
A Floating Reveal Around the Artwork You Already Own
A 24x32 canvas floater frame changes the presentation around the canvas rather than changing the image itself.
A Physical Reveal Around the Canvas
The floating effect comes from the space between the canvas edge and the surrounding frame. It is not a white border printed onto the image, and it is not a paper matboard.
Your existing artwork stays as it is. The outer frame adds a separate visual boundary instead of overlapping the front surface.
Choose How Strongly the Border Reads
Compare the available finishes with the artwork and the wall behind it. A stronger contrast can make the outline more noticeable; a closer tone can give the whole display a quieter appearance.
Choose from the current product options and images. If you need a particular material, confirm the specification of your selected finish before ordering.
Have a Fit Question? Show Us These Canvas Details
For an unusual canvas or uncertainty about replacing an outer frame, photographs of the physical artwork can clarify what a size label cannot.
- Front view: show the complete canvas and corners, including any existing decorative frame.
- Side view: show the canvas thickness and any paint or texture extending around its edge.
- Back view: show the stretcher bars, corners, hanging fittings and anything projecting beyond the support frame.
Include your measured width, height and canvas depth with the enquiry. If you cannot access the canvas edges accurately, explain that too. Contact us about your canvas fit.

Confirm the Canvas Details, Then Choose Your Frame
- Enter your canvas dimensions. Fill in Exact Size of Your Existing Canvas (in cm) with measured width x height. Use the canvas in its intended display orientation.
- Match thickness and select colour. Measure the supporting canvas depth and select the matching option, then choose your frame finish. If the thickness is between options, confirm suitability with us first.
- Check the details before checkout. Review your measurements, options and displayed price. Add any fit details already discussed with us to Order Notes.
Fitting the canvas into the frame is part of completing the display. If you need to know whether fixing accessories are included or which fitting method is appropriate, ask us about the selected option before ordering.
Delivery charges are calculated at checkout. If the frame is needed for an exhibition, a gift or another fixed date, contact us with your postcode and required date to check timing before purchase.
