Description

OUTER FRAME ONLY · ARTWORK ALREADY ON STRETCHED CANVAS

Frame a Favourite Canvas or Complete a Series

The right surrounding colour can give one painting a clear presence or help several canvases feel connected. Our 20x30 floating frame adds an outer border with a visible gap around your existing stretched canvas, giving the artwork a floating appearance.

Use it to finish a canvas you already own, whether it is an original painting or a photograph printed on stretched canvas. The frame is supplied separately; artwork, printing, a blank canvas and stretching are not part of this product.

20 x 30 inch canvas format

The nominal size converts to 50.8 cm x 76.2 cm. The actual measurements of your canvas determine the fit.

A depth to match your canvas

Existing canvas thickness options: 2cm, 3cm and 4cm.

A finish you can coordinate

Choose from Black, White, Woodgrain, Light Woodgrain, Gold, Antique Gold and Silver.

Keep a Canvas Series Consistent

Framing a pair or a collection? Plan the colour across the group and the fit for each individual artwork.

1

Choose the visual connection

For one canvas, look for a frame colour that relates to the image or nearby furnishings. For a series, repeating one finish can connect works with different subjects or colour palettes.

Compare the options against the whole group before settling on the colour.

2

Record every canvas separately

Give each artwork a simple reference, then record its actual width, height and thickness. Two canvases labelled 20x30 can still differ slightly in their outside measurements or use different stretcher depths.

Check every piece rather than copying the first canvas measurements across the set.

3

Keep each frame specification clear

Match each set of measurements to the correct artwork and selected finish. Use Order Notes: for an artwork reference or a relevant construction detail.

If the canvases need different measured dimensions, depths or colours, configure their frames separately when ordering.

A shared finish can create a coordinated look, while each frame still needs to fit its own canvas. If you also need to compare finished outside dimensions across a set, ask us to confirm those dimensions for each canvas specification.

Confirm the Canvas Behind the 20x30 Label

The supplier’s size label is a starting point. Measuring the stretched artwork itself gives the information needed to prepare its frame.

Width and height in centimetres

With the canvas in its intended display orientation, measure its outside width and height from edge to edge. Fill in Exact Size of Your Existing Canvas (in cm): as width x height.

Keep any measured decimals. Enter the canvas dimensions without adding the floating gap or the decorative frame border.

Thickness of the existing canvas

Measure the canvas depth from the back of the stretcher to the front surface. Choose the matching option under Depth (Thickness) of Your Existing Canvas:.

The 2cm, 3cm and 4cm options describe your canvas thickness. They do not describe the visible gap or the finished outside frame size.

20x30 is an inch-based canvas format. Exactly 20 x 30 inches equals 50.8 cm x 76.2 cm, or 76.2 cm x 50.8 cm in landscape orientation. A canvas with this nominal label may vary slightly; order from the actual dimensions you measure. The outer frame is prepared around those dimensions.

Find the Colour That Connects with Your Artwork

There is no single finish for every painting. Start with the artwork, then consider how the frame will relate to the rest of the display.

Available finishesA way to approach your selection
Black or White Compare these with the darkest and lightest areas of your artwork. For a mixed collection, a shared Black or White finish can provide a recurring outline across different images.
Woodgrain or Light Woodgrain Consider these when the artwork or surrounding room has a warm colour palette. Use the product photographs to compare the appearance of the two options.
Gold, Antique Gold or Silver Look for an accent colour that relates to the canvas or other frames in the display. For a series, assess the chosen finish against every piece before ordering.

Select your choice under Floating Frame Color:. When the artworks vary in subject, repeating the surrounding colour is one way to give the collection a shared visual element.

Questions About Your 20x30 Canvas Frame

Complete the Presentation of Your 20x30 Artwork

Start with the canvas measurements, match the thickness and select the finish. For a series, keep each artwork’s details together so every frame is configured for the correct canvas.

The supplied frame extends beyond the canvas dimensions. If finished outside size or canvas fitting affects your plans, confirm those details before placing the order.
